📘 The Columbus Promise — Community Resource
📍 What It Is
The Columbus Promise is a community initiative that helps make college more affordable and achievable for graduates of Columbus City Schools (CCS). It’s a public-private partnership led by the City of Columbus, Columbus City Schools, I Know I Can, and Columbus State Community College.
🎯 Mission
To expand access to post-secondary education, reduce financial barriers, and provide support services so CCS graduates can succeed in college and build rewarding careers.
🎓 Who’s Eligible
- Graduates of Columbus City Schools
- No GPA requirement
- Open regardless of immigration status
- Eligibility not restricted by Pell Grant qualification or household income level
💡 Program Benefits
As a Columbus Promise Scholar, you receive:
✔️ Tuition & fee coverage at Columbus State Community College (after federal aid and other eligible scholarships)
✔️ Up to $500 per semester for educational expenses (books, supplies, etc.)
✔️ Dedicated academic advising and career counseling
✔️ Support services to help you stay on track and succeed in college and career planning
🚀 How It Works
To become a Columbus Promise Scholar, students typically need to:
- Complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid)
- Apply to Columbus State Community College
- Submit the Columbus Promise application now – May 15, 2026
