Terese Evans: Passionate about Making Healthy Changes!
We are thrilled to introduce Terese Evans as the Faces of FACCES for April 2025! From the moment we met Terese, she has been a shining light in our community. She first connected with FACCES through our Education Director at a Head Start community partner event. After learning about our programs, she eagerly joined the first FACCES cooking class with her children, where they learned how to fillet and cook fresh tilapia from the Urban Garden aquaponic tank.

Terese’s enthusiasm was contagious—she attended every cooking class session, bringing more of her family along to share in the fun and educational experience. When reflecting on her time at FACCES, she shared:
“I enjoy FACCES and really wish I had known about it sooner. The cooking classes introduced my kids and me to new foods and ways to prepare fresh produce. Before the class, I didn’t even know cabbage could be eaten raw until we made a mango slaw. Once I tried it, I loved it and started making it all the time for my kids.”

Her journey toward a healthier lifestyle didn’t stop there. Terese is committed to making lasting changes for her family, saying:
“I’m changing the way I eat to be healthy and present for my kids, and to encourage them to do the same.”
Her passion for wellness led her to join the FACCES Food Pillar Committee, where she actively shares ideas on improving the local food system. Her dedication to creating a healthier future for herself and her children is truly inspiring.

Thank you, Terese, for your commitment to wellness and for being a valued member of the FACCES community! If you’re interested in joining our food programs like Terese, call us at 614.319.6070 or send us an email at food@thefacces.org about your interest!
