Community starts around the table, and on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, FACCES is bringing families, neighbors, and community partners together to celebrate exactly that during our 2nd Annual Community Kitchen Day from 5:30 PM – 6:30 PM. This special evening will also serve as our monthly Family Gathering, creating a space where food, connection, learning, and fun come together for all ages.
Across Columbus, community kitchens continue to play an important role in making sure families have access to meals, resources, education, and support, and this dual celebration honors the people and spaces helping make that possible every day.
This year’s event at FACCES will feature hands-on Urban Garden and Greenhouse activities designed to get families learning, exploring, and growing together. Guests can enjoy delicious food, music, and engaging activities that highlight the importance of healthy eating, sustainability, and community wellness in ways that feel welcoming and accessible to everyone.
Community Kitchen Day is also an invitation for community kitchens and organizations across Central Ohio to participate in ways that feel meaningful to them. Local groups are encouraged to host their own gatherings by serving meals, offering cooking demonstrations, distributing food boxes, or creating spaces for connection within their communities. Organizations are welcome to participate on their own schedule and are not required to host activities on the same day as FACCES, allowing each group to celebrate in a way that best fits their community. Participating organizations that are interested in being apart should email food@thefacces.org and sign up.
Whether sharing a meal, learning something new, or simply spending time with family and neighbors, the evening is meant to remind us how powerful community can be when we gather with purpose. Come as you are, bring your family, and join FACCES for an evening filled with connection, joy, and celebration.
