May ’25 FACCES Events You Won’t Want to Miss

May is Mental Health Month, and this month’s focus is all about nurturing mental wellness for the whole family. To kick things off, we’re releasing a Mental Wellness Calendar filled with fun, simple self-care ideas—one for each day of the month. These daily practices are designed to help both kids and adults stay grounded and emotionally well, with the hope that families carry their favorite habits forward into daily life.

On Wednesday, May 7th, from 5:30–6:30 p.m., our FACCES Family Gathering will also center around mental wellness. Families will explore what wellness looks like in everyday life, connect with one another, and try fun, mood-boosting movement activities led by Motion in Victory™. We’ll end the evening with a meal prepared in the FACCES Kitchen and time for fellowship.

We’re also offering Mental Health First Aid Training and Certification on Saturdays, May 10th and 17th, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. (attendance on both days is required). This nationally recognized training, led by the National Council for Mental Wellbeing, equips participants to recognize and respond to mental health and substance use challenges—ideal for caregivers, educators, and community members. Expect interactive discussions, valuable tools, and a certificate at the end. During training days, the FACCES Kitchen will be open—offering refreshments and small bites prepared by youth gaining hands-on experience in entrepreneurship. Be sure to stop by and support their journey!

We’ll close out the month with the “Are the Children Well” Symposium on Tuesday, May 27th, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Whitehall Community Center. This statewide event features voices from families, local leaders, and youth advocates working to build a healthier future for our children. Expect interactive exhibits, resources, and a powerful call to action.
