Highlighting the Investment in our Communities Youth!
This May, we are thrilled to highlight Mayor Andrew J. Ginther and the Office of Education for their deep investment in youth development. This investment in the youth has demonstrated the city’s commitment to ensuring they are healthy and safe, by investing over $20 million dollars to support summer youth programs. This year the initiative will provide funding for organizations that help kids learn and grow in a safe and nourishing environment where they will be exposed to STEM projects, sports, college and career training, enrichment programs, and much more. FACCES is grateful for the investment in Columbus youth.
This summer, youths will be able to explore college and career readiness, get hands on culinary experience in FACCES Kitchen, plant and grow crops in FACCES Urban Garden, and attend field trips. As the African proverb states it takes a village to ensure that all our children are well. We look forward to continuing this work by supporting Mayor Ginther and the city’s efforts in providing a safe, healthy, and nurturing environment for Columbus youth.
