Health is a priority for many families, but access to engaging and inclusive wellness opportunities isn’t always easy to find. By hosting FACCES Family Fitness event during spring break, a space was created for youth and their families to come together, explore new activities, and build healthy habits in an environment designed just for them.
Throughout the day, the campus came alive with a variety of activation stations, each offering something unique. Families moved from one experience to another, discovering new ways to stay active and engaged. At the movement stations, Nationwide Children’s Hospital’s Mentor in Movement program brought energy and balance, combining fun cardio exercises with calming youth yoga sessions that encouraged both physical and mental wellness.
Coach Wha kept the momentum going with full-body workouts that had participants of all ages smiling, sweating, and pushing themselves in the best way. Meanwhile, Xtreme Hip Hop with Coach Gin and Coach Tim turned up the music and brought families together through rhythm and movement, creating moments of joy that echoed across the festival.

Nutrition was just as important as movement. Guests enjoyed energy balls, egg bites, and protein muffins, thoughtfully prepared by youth in the FACCES kitchen, showcasing both skill and a commitment to healthy living.
Health screenings added another valuable layer to the event. Dr. Dan Crawford provided vision screenings, ensuring families had access to important eye care resources, while Buckeye Health brought their mobile unit to offer physical screenings, making preventative care accessible and convenient.

Over the greenhouse, Central State University served delicious and healthy smoothies. And visitors were excited to welcome new tilapia fingerlings into the aquaponic tank, a reminder that wellness also includes education, sustainability, and hands-on learning experiences.

Congratulations to the winners of the wellness basket drawings! We hope you and your families enjoy all the goodies. And a heartfelt thank you goes out to every vendor who contributed their time, expertise, and energy to make the day special. Most importantly, thank you to the families who showed up, participated, and truly embraced the spirit of moving together.
FACCES is excited to keep the momentum going. Join us for our monthly Family Fitness held on the first Tuesday of every month, where a variety of instructors lead families in fun and engaging movement activities. Our next session is Tuesday, May 5 at 6 PM!
Because at the end of the day, health is wealth.
