May 2026 Faces of FACCES: The Epps Family

For May’s “Faces of FACCES”, we are proud to spotlight the Epps family! Jaleesa and her three kids first came to FACCES to be a part of the March edition of the seasonal cooking class.   “I decided to bring them to the cooking class because it’s something new. It’s something that I wanted us to experience as a family; and they love cooking at home,” Epps said.  At home, cooking is already a shared joy for the Epps’. Her three 6-year olds are eager helpers in the kitchen. “They can use the toaster by themselves. They can use the microwave with supervision. They love making toast and eggs and sandwiches and plated fruits and such,” she explained. “So I just wanted to further that creativity and that interest in food for them.”  Their enthusiasm for cooking carried into their experience at our seasonal cooking class, as it was structured with the families in mind.  “When we first came, there were three high chairs provided for my children… and there

April 2026 Faces of FACCES: Telhio Credit Union

For April’s Faces of FACCES, we’re proud to highlight our valued partnership with Telhio Credit Union. Telhio and FACCES have built a lasting relationship over the years that continues to grow stronger through the shared mission of empowering our community.  “I personally love working with FACCES,” said Tatiana Miller, Telhio Workplace Banking Manager. “I have been at Telhio for a year and a half, but since I’ve been here, I have been at FACCES. And throughout the partnership, my favorite part is the kids. I love doing financial education with the kids and helping them learn about money.”  Throughout this partnership, Telhio has provided financial education to FACCES members of all ages, whether that is teaching young teens how to open a checking account and what credit is, or advising adults on mortgages, investments, or how to look out for financial elder abuse.  Tatiana also shared that one of her favorite parts about working with FACCES is providing adults with resources they didn’t even

March 2026 Faces of FACCES: Jennifer, Jouseth & Ja’nae

This month’s Faces of FACCES spotlights Jennifer Cancel and her two children, Jouseth and Ja’nae. Jennifer got involved with FACCES several years ago when she simply drove past the building during a family gathering, decided to check it out, and has been a FACCES family member ever since!  Jennifer shares that one of the most refreshing changes she has seen is her children’s excitement about school and FACCES activities. She loves seeing them eager to learn, participate, and get involved in events. “It’s like a family environment and that helps with everything,” Jennifer said.  This past summer, Jouseth attended the FACCES summer camp and absolutely loved the experience. Now that Ja’nae is old enough to participate as well, Jennifer is excited that both of her children can continue making memories in the summer program for years to come. “We had fun, we played a lot of games, and we ate really good food,” said Jouseth. He even shared some of the field trips they went on including visiting The Ohio
